1. What is THE LÄND?

THE LÄND is Baden-Württemberg. A federal state in the southwest of Germany. We believe: It's the best place in the whole world and perhaps in the whole universe. Here you will find interesting job opportunities with innovative companies, good working conditions and a beautiful landscape with a high quality of life. We are convinced that it is a great place to live and work. There's just one problem: some people might find our official name difficult to pronounce. And because we want to make it as easy as possible for you, we have simply given ourselves a new, shorter name: THE LÄND. 2. But who are you exactly?

The State Ministry of Baden-Württemberg is responsible for the international advertising campaign for the federal state. Launched in October 2021, THE LÄND campaign communicates the various key advantages that make Baden-Württemberg one of the rare places on the planet that offers excellent employment prospects as well as a great place to live.

The campaign is conducted by the Department of State Marketing in the Ministry of State. It is therefore an official campaign by an administrative authority that also involves local companies.

3. Why do you run an online shop?

We want to give all residents of Baden-Württemberg, and anyone who wants to become one, the opportunity to show their love for LÄND and participate in the campaign. Therefore, we have developed various items, including our well-known and popular "Nett hier" sticker, which can be found all over the world.

4. What is the “Nett hier” sticker all about?

Our iconic "Nett hier" sticker has achieved cult status in Baden-Württemberg and far beyond. Many FÄNS use it to express that they find Baden-Württemberg the most beautiful place. It's important to us to emphasize that there are wonderful places to discover all over the world. The literal translation of the saying is something like "It's nice here. But have you ever been to Baden-Württemberg?" For some time now, you can also find an English-language sticker with the inscription "Not bad," with which we tried to capture the tone of the original statement as closely as possible.

We would like to point out that we ask everyone to only apply the stickers to their personal property, such as suitcases, books, or electronic devices, to avoid environmental pollution. For beautiful travel memories, you can hold the stickers up to the camera when taking a photo.

5. Where is the merchandise from?

Most articles are “MADE IN THE LÄND”. For example, our kids’ tops, T-shirts, hoodies and baby romper suits are manufactured by TRIGEMA and ENGEL, the wooden board is made at a joinery in the Black Forest and the stickers and posters are all printed in Baden-Württemberg. The quality of our products is incredibly important to us, so we perform regular reviews to establish whether we can enhance it by regional sourcing, by improving the production processes or making them more sustainable. Sustainability and climate neutrality are two focus areas that we intend to continue developing in the future.
